Pregnant Sarah and Ava in the Belly

So here you are looking at Sarah, Bryce, and Ava’s new Web page! For this first post, her sister Erin (that’s me!) is running the show but have no fear…I will turn over control soon. To start with, I thought I’d put up some pictures of Sarah’s growing belly and Ava as a growing baby. Just click on the pictures to see more. We can’t wait for Ava to come out!!!!

She’s Here!

Ava Jane Nelson was born on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 6:53 P.M. She is 7 lbs 12 oz and is 19 1/2 inches long. She is BEAUTIFUL as you can see for yourself. Mother and baby are doing fantastic.

Home Again

After a short visit home, Ava had to go back to spend some time in the hospital to take care of a few problems. She’s now doing just fantastic back at home with mommy and daddy. She’s eating almost every hour and practicing to be the next instuctor on the Abs of Steel videos.

More March

Ava is already growing and changing so much!  She is getting really strong and more coordinated all the time.  She still doesn’t like her bath too much, but it is certainly getting better.

An April Full of Blessings

We have had a wonderful month so far!  Ava is growing like a champ and is changing everyday.  She is no longer my tiny, fragile newborn, but a rollie-pollie, cuddly, smiling and cooing baby.  She truly is an incredible joy to be around.  She is focusing on faces, and I know that she can tell me apart from other people.  She no longer cries when I give her a bath, and puts herself to sleep rather quickly.  She loves playing on her play mat and she successfully bats at the musical star, afterwhich she breaks out in a huge grin.  Being a mommy is a million times more joyful, rewarding and incredible than I could have ever imagined.

Ava was able to meet her Grandpa Cahoon, Uncle Chris, Auntie Erin, cousin Emma and Great Grandpa Cahoon (as well as see her sweet Grandma Cahoon again) over Easter weekend.  These wonderfully supportive folks traveled all the way out here to Las Vegas to attend Ava’s blessing.  Bryce gave Ava a beautiful blessing on Saturday night at his parents home.  We were surrounded by so many incredible and loving family members, and I am so glad that they got to participate in Ava’s important day!  Ava wore a dress lovingly made by her Nana Nelson, and slept like the angelic baby she is during the entire blessing, and the little party we had afterwards, despite being passed from person to person.  Bryce and I have been so blessed to be intrusted with this very special daughter.

We had so much fun spending time with the family while they were here.  Ava’s Auntie Erin took some of the most fabulous pictures of her playing with her play mat and generally being super sweet.

So here are some picture albums to document this eventful month.  The first is just Ava playing around, the second is from her blessing, the third are the fabulous pictures Auntie Erin took of Ava and Emma and the last one has pictures of Ava in her blessing dress, Emma in her Easter dress and some of Auntie Lauren and Uncle Chris.  Enjoy!

The Smiler

So, Ava has been smiling for the past couple weeks, but it has been awfully difficult to capture on film.  The other day I was able to get a couple pictures of Ava getting ready to smile and just finishing a smile, and I figured it was the best I was going to get for awhile.  Her smile truly does melt my heart!  The other great picture I got was Ava showing how incredibly squirmy she is.  Honestly, she NEVER stops moving, and when she does, I am constantly checking to make sure she is still breathing.  My whole painful and sleepless pregnancy now makes perfect sense.  The same day Ava did another fabulous monkey trick.  You see, I was on the phone with Bryce trying to explain to him how we should go to Hawaii for my friend Kim’s wedding (which we all know is not exactly in our financial realm.)  Anyway, I told Ava to tell her daddy that she really wanted to go to Hawaii, and on cue she made the most adorable little gurgling/cooing noise right into the phone.  Round one to Sarah and her circus monkey!  Anyway, these are the only three pictures in this album, but dang are they fantastic!
